The 2024-2025 school year has officially begun!
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, University City celebrated this fact with the UCity Night Out and Back-to-School Rally.
From 3pm until 7pm, the Jackson Park Elementary School building was filled with numerous activities and services for students and families, including free backpacks and school supplies, haircuts, an immunization clinic and clothes. Incoming students could also participate in a Starbucks village and design a cup. And there was face painting, a bubble bus and dozens of stands from businesses and places around the University City area. There were even free shuttles provided to families to transport them to the event. The purpose of the event is to kick off the school year for families while also providing important resources.
