The 2024 MLS season is finally in the rearview window and as we look ahead to a brighter STL City SC future, I asked myself one question: How will they do?
The MLS 2025 season schedule was just released as of 2:00 PM Eastern Time on Dec. 19. Here is how I believe the year will unfold.
- Game 1/34.
Saturday, February 22nd
STL City SC vs Colorado Rapids @Energizer Park = Win: 1-0-0 3 pts
– A good season always starts with a win, and I believe this will be a good season for City SC. I don’t believe Colorado’s Backers can hold the new and healthy faces of City SC. - Game 2/34.
Saturday, March 1st
STL City SC vs San Diego FC @Snapdragon Stadium = Win: 2-0-0 6 pts
– San Diego has had a shaky start to their club’s history. Uncertainties lie ahead for San Diego and their lack of organization so far leads me to believe they will have a rough season in general and in this game. - Game 3/34
Sunday, March 9th
STL City SC vs LA Galaxy @Dignity Health Sports Park = Loss: 2-0-1 6 pts
– LA, the reigning champs have declined a bit, they’ve only gotten older- but still, they are the champions for a reason. - Game 4/34
Saturday, March 15th
City SC vs Seattle Sounders @Energizer Park = Draw 2-1-1 7 pts
– Two good teams and they are very similar, too similar for any one team to win. - Game 5/34
Saturday, March 22nd
STL City SC vs Philidelphia Union @Subaru Park = Win 3-1-1 10 pts
– Philidelphia is a good squad young squad, but they are still missing that one piece of the puzzle to click into place before they can contend. - Game 6/34
Sunday, March 30th
STL City SC vs Austin FC @Energizer Park = Win 4-1-1 13 pts
– Austin was in the same boat as St. Louis last year, disappointing. the only difference is that STL made big changes to improve the team and Austin didn’t. - Game 7/34
Saturday, April 5th
STL City SC vs Sporting Kansas City @Children’s Mercy Park = Win 5-1-1 16 pts
– I may be biased, but Kansas City will never get my vote when it comes to Soccer. - Game 8/34
Sunday, April 13th
STL City SC vs Columbus Crew @Energizer Park = Draw 5-2-1 17 pts
– Colombus is a great team, best of the best, we will see if St. Louis is in that same group this game. - Game 9/34
Saturday, April 19th
STL City SC vs Vancouver Whitecaps @Energizer Park = Loss 5-2-2 17 pts
– Vancouver has had “the number’ of City SC the last two seasons, sadly I think that trend continues. - Game 10/34
Sunday, April 27th
STL City SC vs LAFC @BMO Stadium = Draw 5-3-2 18 pts
– LAFC is a squad full of playmakers that can change a game at any given moment. - Game 11/34
Saturday, May 3rd
STL City SC vs Seattle Sounders @Lumen Field = Loss 5-3-3 18 pts
– Seattle is a solid squad, very similar to STL, that’s why I predict that they split the season series. - Game 12/34
Saturday, May 10th
STL City SC vs San Diego @Energizer Park = Win 6-3-3 21 pts
– Again, San Diego seems too unorganized to contend. City sweeps the season series. - Game 13/34
Wednesday, May 14th
STL City SC vs Kansas City @Energizer Park = Win 7-3-3 24 pts
– I will never pick KC. No notes. - Game 14/34

– Every team has its ups and downs and I predict a losing streak mid-season. - Game 15/34
Saturday, May 24th
STL City SC vs Colorado Rapids @Dicks Sporting Goods Park = Loss 7-3-5 24 pts
– 2nd loss of the streak for City. - Game 16/34
Saturday, May 31st
STL City SC vs San Jose Quakes @Energizer Park = Loss 7-3-6 24 pts
– 3rd loss on the streak for City - Game 17/34
Sunday, June 8th
STL City SC vs Portland Timbers @Providence Park = Loss 7-3-7 24 pts
– 4th and final loss on the streak for City - Game 18/34

– The Battle of the “City SC’s”. - Game 20/34
Saturday, June 28th
STL City SC vs Houston Dynamo @Shell Energy Stadium = Loss 8-4-8 28 pts
– It’s tough to make a 3 day turn happen as an organization, nonetheless win. - Game 21/34
Saturday, July 5th
STL City SC vs Real Salt Lake @America First Field = Win 9-4-8 31 pts
– Two good teams, one great game, and three points for St. Louis. - Game 22/34
Sunday, July 13th
STL City SC vs Portland Timbers @Energizer Park = Win 10-4-8 34 pts
– St. Louis sweeps the series versus Portland. - Game 23/34
Saturday, July 19th
STL City SC vs FC Dallas @Toyota Stadium = Win 11-4-8 37 pts
– Every mid-season losing streak needs a late-season winning streak. - Game 24/34
Saturday, July 26
STL City SC vs Minnesota United @Energizer Park = Win 12-4-8 40 pts
– 4 in a row! - Game 25/34
Saturday, August 9th
STL City SC vs Nashville SC @Energizer Park = Draw 12-5-8 41 pts
– The win streak ends, but the point streak continues. - Game 26/34
Saturday, August 16th
STL City SC vs Chicago Fire @Soilder Field = Win 13-5-8 44 pts
– Like KC, I will never choose Chicago to win. - Game 27/34
Saturday, August 23rd
STL City SC vs Vancouver Whitecaps @BC Place = Loss 13-5-9 44 pts
– They still know how to beat STL - Game 28/34
Saturday, August 30th
STL City SC vs Houston Dynamo @Energizer Park = Draw 13-6-9 45 pts
– Houston is solid and late-season wear and tear has taken its effect. - Game 29/34
Saturday, September 6th
STL City SC vs FC Dallas @Energizer Park = Win 14-6-9 48 pts
– While wear and tear is a factor, STL’s depth will help them late in the season. - Game 30/34
Saturday, September 13th
STL City SC vs CF Montréal @Stade Saputo = Loss 14-6-10 48 pts
– “You Win Some You Lose Some” - Game 31/34

– The season wraps up on a high note.I predict that St. Louis City SC will win 16 games, draw 7 and lose 11 to end the season with 55 points and a playoff spot for the 2nd time in franchise history.
