The Gym was transformed into a land of future job opportunities on Nov. 16 with more than forty different businesses, trade groups and schools. Students received a valuable glimpse into their prospective futures.
“The career fair showed us what attributes and experience we needed, what colleges to go to, and our options through the military,” said freshmen Andre West.
In addition to this opportunity, students also competed in a raffle to win several prizes including a laptop, ear buds, and gift cards to several restaurants. To qualify, students had to get check-off forms completed by at least 10 businesses and answer all the questions at the bottom of the form.
Students went to several booths to fill out these forms, including Boeing, AT&T, Air Force, and Missouri S&T. The SLCC even brought a trailer to show off several hands on computer simulations.
“The offerings included construction and electrical careers, architecture, and computers and science,” said senior Michelle Holmes. “It pertained to the career I am interested in, which is architecture and construction.”
